Most Europäer think of acupuncture when confronted with the concept of TCM. No wonder, because this form of therapy is now practiced worldwide. However, it is only a partial aspect of the complex TCM. For example, as herbal medicine is only one aspect of traditional European medicine.
The term "Traditional Chinese Medicine" has also emerged in contrast to the other traditional cures around the world and therefore hardly plays a role in Asia itself.
Chinese healing has been developing for more than 2000 years and has its origins in China. In other East Asian regions – especially Japan, Vietnam and Korea - special variants developed.
